A.A.E. Faction
Silverglade Observatory
Mario and Nic are both members of the Astronomical and Archeological Society of Jorvik (A.A.E.) Mario lives at the Silverglade Observatory located high in the mountains west of Valedale. He can be reached either via riding the mountain pass from Hollow Woods or by taking the cable car at North Link. We meet Nic, a famous adventure and explorer, briefly in Everwind Fields during one of his epic adventures exploring the Hidden Dinosaur Valley in his hot air balloon.
New adventure begins
Allo Paige, so nice to see you! It is so nice of you to find time to help me with my work at the observatory. With you helping me I actually have a little time left over for other things. Right now I'm using that time to hire new staff and find things for a new store I have always wanted to open. Oh, I hope I find the right person to run the store... I wish I had more time to look. If you keep helping me I should be able to open the store soon.
New parts for the Telescope.
Mario has ordered spare parts for the telescope... they seem to break a lot. Anyway, Mario received an SMS that the delivery has finally arrived. Unfortunately the delivery driver got lost and couldn't find his way up to the observatory so the package was left at North Link. I rode over to North Link and retrieved the parts for Mario, who was busy polishing the lens of the telescope.

Daily Quests
Calibrate for star status
Every so often Mario needs help calibrating the telescope so images remain sharp and clear when he is searching the night sky. I need to ride down to Everwind Fields and stand at the five locations Mario has marked on my map, all of which are on top of high hills, so he can calibrate the telescope based on my positions.

Stars over the field
Last night was very exciting! Mario counted three different falling stars over Everwind Field and would love to do some test on them but doesn't have the time to go locate them. He shows me where they landed through the telescope and asks me to go find them. You can always look again if you need to just go through the door of the Observatory.

Candidates for Mario's Shop
Allo Paige, you know what? The stock has arrived for my very own store! Now it is only a question of who is going to work in it ... I have received a lot of applications... but I have picked out three final candidates. But, I can't decide on which one I should pick...they are all so good. Can you ride over and meet them and let me know which one you like the best?
Star candidate number 1
The first candidate for the job is .... hmm no name, the application was only signed with "#357". Apparently Mario thinks this application looks very good and wants me to go over to the Moorland Dark Core landing point on the beach and interview him and see if he would be good for the job.
Star candidate number 2
Candidate number two looks really promising. It is a young girl, but she seems very competent and mature in her letter. In her photo she looks like she couldn't be more than sixteen.... but that doesn't mean she can't take responsibility for the store. Her name is Julie and she lives in Firgrove, at any rate, I ride there to interview her and see if she might be the right person to run Mario's store.
Star candidate number 3
The last candidate is a lady named Bella who lives at the winery. She has been working in one of the store there for a long time and now she thinks she is ready to run a store on her own. This candidate sounds very promising indeed. I need to ride over to the winery and see if Bella might be the one for the job.

On paper, my first preference would be to choose candidate number three, Bella. She is the most experienced at running a store, and has the shortest distance to travel each day. My second choice would be Julie and for the life of me, I have NO idea why Mario would even consider an application from anyone who did not sign their name, let alone work over at the Dark Core landing point. Anyway, it is time for me to ride on over to visit each applicant and interview them.
The Star candidates
First Impressions
Do you have a preference for any candidate? First impressions are everything and as such, I would now recommend Julie before Bella, and burn #357 application. Why? #357 is just plain rude, Bella would drive everyone nuts shouting like that all day. Julie on the other hand, was polite and honest, about the fact her photo was a little old... by about fifty years I would say. giggles
The Interviews Continue
.... run a store in the observatory ... I am perfect for that... I am good with people... you get it? I should tell Mario #357 is perfect for the job, if only to see if my decision to pick him has any ramifications to the quest results. Was I impressed with this interview? Not at all!!

I would be perfect to running the store at the observatory. I am organised, mature and good at climbing which would be useful if the gondola lift is ever out of service. I like Julie, she has a good work ethic and I'm sure she will be able to focus on the job at hand. Besides, Julie will surely have some amazing stories to tell, if successful.

FIND A NAIL IN THE DRILLING TOWER? ARE YOU CRAZY? WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? RUN A STORE IN THE OBSERVATORY? AHA ,WHY DIDN'T YOU JUST SAY SO? I AM PERFECT FOR THE JOB! I WORKED IN A STORE FOR MANY YEARS. The ringing in my ears is driving me insane and that is only after a few minutes with Bella. There is no possible way I could in good conscience recommend Bella for this position.

With all the interviews done, I now had to report back to Mario and tell him about each candidate. For me there was only one stand out and that was Julie, I wonder who Mario's final pick will be.
I was bewildered when Mario stated he still didn't know who was the best for the job .... they all looked so good to him. That was after I had reported back with my interview findings on each of the candidates. He finally decided to leave the decision on who tends his store up to me. It was at that moment I know who I was going to pick.

Personally I felt Julie was the best candidate for the job however I decided to live dangerously and chose #357. Will the wrath of the gods fall on me tomorrow? I'll have to wait and see.
The Star Shop is Officially Open
I survived the night, and laughed when I saw #357 was actually hired and standing at his post ready to report for duty. The star shop is finally open for business.
Mario appreciated all the help I offered him and for the first time in a long while he now has time for other things outside of working at the observatory all day.
All I can do now is continue on with Mario's daily quests to build my reputation up to "Liked" with A.A.E. only then, can I move onto the next major project. Mario was tight lipped about what this adventure would entail only saying...

I'm going to stop talking so I don't give it away .... hehe ... it is a surprise, but you are going to like it, I promise! "Surprise for a Star"
Surprise for a Star
We know Mario doesn't ride very much if at all, due to time constraints but he has studied horse anatomy and done some analysis of the races around Jorvik. It's a hobby his had for a long time and finally, due to the spare time his had recently, his been able to sneak away and put together a new race around the observatory which his always wanted to build. It was a surprise that he couldn't keep to himself any longer and wanted me to be the first to try it.
I'm doing a big cleanup! There is a lot to do, but just imagine when it is done I'll finally be able to have visitors at the observatory!
Hmm... Interesting teaser there Mario! I'll continue on with Mario's daily quests to build my reputation up to "Popular" with A.A.E. then I can move onto the Big Cleanup.
